Connect an AI assistant

Add Crews Out to Claude, ChatGPT or Muse so your assistant can tell you who is off and ask for time off for you.

You can add Crews Out to Claude, ChatGPT or Muse. Then you can ask it things like "who's off next week?" or "ask for Friday off, vacation". Anyone in the company can connect their own: the office, and anyone on the crew.

Your assistant works as you and sees what you see in Crews Out. The office sees the whole company. Someone on the crew sees their own time off, who is off, and what is waiting on them if they approve.

Two things stay the same as always:

  • Your assistant never approves or denies. It hands the approver the approve link, and they tap it.
  • Crews Out never sends a message for you. When your assistant asks for time off, it gives you a link that opens your own WhatsApp or Messages with the words filled in. You press send.

To start, in Crews Out open Settings, Connections, AI assistants (on your crew page, it is near the bottom) and pick the assistant you use.

Claude

  1. Press Add to Claude. Claude opens with Crews Out filled in. Press Add.
  2. Press Connect, sign in to Crews Out and press Allow.
  3. In a chat, press +, then Connectors, and turn Crews Out on.

Every Claude plan can do this, and the Free plan allows one custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it once, then each person presses Connect.

ChatGPT

  1. In Crews Out, tap Copy and open ChatGPT. The address is copied and ChatGPT's settings open on the web. If Developer mode is off, turn it on under Security and login.
  2. Open Plugins and press +.
  3. Name it Crews Out, paste the address, choose OAuth and create it.
  4. Sign in to Crews Out and press Allow.
  5. In a chat, press +, choose Developer mode and pick Crews Out.

It needs Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, on the web.

Muse

  1. Press Copy for Muse, paste it into a Muse chat and send it.
  2. When Muse opens Crews Out, sign in and press Allow.
  3. Ask Muse who is off this week, to check it works.

More than one company

If you are in more than one company, Crews Out asks which one when you press Allow. To use another, connect again and pick it.

Disconnect

The office sees every connected assistant in Settings, Connections, AI assistants, with whose it is and when it was last used, and can disconnect any of them. On the crew, you see and disconnect your own on your crew page. Press Disconnect and it stops straight away. Someone who leaves the crew or the office takes their assistant with them.
